Less than 9% of plastic is ever recycled (UNEP, OECD), while tonnes & tonnes leak into rivers and oceans each year, breaking down into microplastics that persist for centuries.
By contrast, PEFC & FSC-certified paper comes from responsibly managed forests that capture and store carbon as trees grow. It is recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable, with recycling rates far higher than plastic (82% in the EU, Eurostat).
